DAY 1: BASICS OF BUDGETING

Lesson 1 – Hands On Banking: You and Your Money, Course 1

Introduction for young students to help them learn where money comes from and how it can be used.

Setting goals can help young students learn how to make choices and develop positive decision-making habits. Activities help young learners begin identifying small, short-term goals they can make every day.

Lesson 2 – JA Excellence Through Ethics: Having Money When You Need It

Students learn that most people do not have an endless supply of money, so they have to be smart about the decisions they make as to how they spend it. Students will examine the ethical responsibility to spend money on need-based goods and services before want-based goods and services.

Young children can identify a job they can do at home and draw a picture of a job they can do to help their family.

Young students can see how much they have learned about  making smart money choices and helping their families to earn, save, spend and give.
