Junior Achievement USA® (JA) recently honored Western Alliance Bank with a bronze level U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award for the 2023-2024 school year in appreciation of their valued partnership and support. Recipients of the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award were recognized on-stage with a representative from JA USA’s Executive Leadership at the JA Volunteer Summit on Tuesday, March 11th in New York City.
The JA Volunteer Summit is a prestigious and memorable event that honors and celebrates the extraordinary volunteer contributions of the individuals and organizations who have made an incredible impact on Junior Achievement. This year’s summit included a thought leadership session designed to highlight and share volunteer trends and engage participants in peer-to-peer conversations around best practices related to volunteerism, successes, and challenges shared by their volunteers, their philanthropy goals, and how partnering with organizations like JA can address goals and increase impact.
In 2003, President George W. Bush established the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation (the Council) to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers make in communities and encourage more people to serve. The Council created the President’s Volunteer Service Award program as a way to thank and honor individuals who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. In 2006, Junior Achievement became an official certifying organization for this award, which recognizes corporations with a U.S. presence that provide volunteers to teach JA programs anywhere in the world.
Alliance Bank is an amazing partner and supporter for Junior Achievement of Arizona. Alliance Bank has contributed $225,000 over the past five years. Their employee volunteers are top notch — prepared, reliable, and willing to help out anywhere and with many different programs. Over 150 employees volunteer every year at over 25 schools. JA Education Managers view Western Alliance Bank as a go-to partner whenever there’s an urgent volunteer need. They are the model for committed, effective volunteer service.
