At JA, we come alongside educators and parents in an effort to create a more informed and well-prepared generation of leaders, despite socio-economic status. We are looking at the different economic issues in our society and providing student-focused solutions through our various programs to foster a more sustainable future for Arizona.

JA’s unique program model places volunteers from the community into the classrooms where they provide age-appropriate curriculum to students and share about their real-world experiences. Our programs equip today’s students with critical financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship skills that will prepare them to succeed in work and life.

Over 175,000 students in Arizona, the majority of whom come from low-income backgrounds, received JA programs last year, thanks to nearly 8,000 volunteer mentors who donated their time to empower our youth. Each of our programs is hands-on and tailored for students kindergarten through post-secondary school.

Types of Programs

  • In-Classroom: Our volunteer- and teacher-led programs help students connect what they’re learning in school to the real world.
  • Experiential: Classroom lessons introduce students to economic concepts, then they put their skills to the test at one of our student-sized towns, JA BizTown or JA Finance Park, or our mobile on-site simulation JA Money in Motion.
  • Virtual: We can reach students no matter where they’re learning by offering online programs such as JA Inspire, the premier career exploration platform in Arizona.
  • Instructional Model: 3DE prepares high schoolers for their future careers.
