CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS
Our classroom volunteers are truly the magic behind our mission. It takes over 9,000 volunteers each year to run our programs in our local schools. We provide all of the tools and training you need to be successful and have a meaningful experience that will make a lasting impact on low-income students.
Have you decided which volunteer opportunity is right for you?
TYPES OF CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS
- JA Day volunteers teach multiple JA lessons in a single school day
- Traditional classroom volunteers teach a JA lesson once per week for 5-6 weeks
- Career Speaker volunteers share their life and career experiences in a 1-hour session
The JA team is here answer your questions and help you be successful no matter how you volunteer!

I enjoy volunteering for JA because I understand that especially with the older kids, they need a role model who they can perceive as “wanting” to spend time with them and not doing it from a parent or teacher role. Children deserve to know that there are people outside of their immediate circle who believe in them, root for them, and want to invest in their future — even if that is by simply sharing my own personal experiences.
