Art Pérez is Community Affairs Team Lead for U.S. Bank, where he has direct responsibilities for Arizona, Las Vegas and New Mexico and oversees a team that covers Colorado, Utah and Southern California. He’s accountable for the development, coordination and management of community development and relations activities within his markets and oversight of the others. In his current role, Art collaborates with community groups focusing on affordable housing, small business development, capacity building and financial education. The primary focus of his work is serving community needs within low-to-moderate income neighborhoods and meeting corporate Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) objectives. In addition, he manages the corporate giving for Arizona, Las Vegas and New Mexico.
Art’s experience in the banking industry spans more than 30 years. Prior to joining U.S. Bank in 2013, he was with Ally Bank as a CRA Compliance Manager with responsibilities for all CRA-related and giving activities. Before his time with Ally, he worked at Bank of America in Community Development Compliance and Finance.
Community involvement isn’t just part of Art’s job, it’s part of who he is. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of affordable housing non-profit Trellis, having previously served as both Treasurer and President of the Board, and on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Arizona. He’s the past Chair of the Arizona Community Reinvestment Collaborative, a member of the Advisory Board of New Pathways for Youth, a member of the Outreach Committee for Clearinghouse CDFI, a member of the 2020-2021 class of Valley Leadership and an emeritus member of the Board of Directors of Xico, Artes. In 2019, NewTown CDC awarded him the Affordable Housing Advocate award.
Art earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from New Mexico State University and lives in Tempe, AZ with his wife and two teenage sons.
