The JA Stem Summit gives middle and high school students an opportunity to see the application of science, technology, engineering, and math in the real world, and introduces them to high-growth, high-demand STEM career path options. Students also have the opportunity to practice soft skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Volunteer mentors explore potential career fields with students as they participate in the hands-on, experiential sessions. The three challenges are designed to illustrate the importance of taking math and science classes in school to prepare students for future STEM careers:
- STEM Challenge #1: Math Blast
- STEM Challenge #2: Power Team Challenge
- STEM Challenge #3: Explore Engineering
