Our volunteer mentors are the key to JA programs and they leave a lasting impression on the students they teach. In fact, one in five people who experienced JA as a student has gone on to work in the industry of their JA volunteer!

It takes more than 9,500 people each year to help deliver JA programs to our students. Join Us!

Do you want to make an impact on the next generation of leaders?
Help us prepare today's youth to have successful financial futures!

Junior Achievement's mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. We do this by sending trained volunteers into the classroom to facilitate our pre-planned activities on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

We are looking for volunteers to teach the JA programs with 6th grade students at Cheyenne Elementary near 87th Ave and Cactus in Peoria.

  • Volunteers will be asked to teach a total of six 45min lessons with the students. Lessons are typically taught one per week.
  • Flexible scheduling will allow the volunteer to work directly with the classroom teacher to schedule the lessons at a date/time convenient for each.
  • Volunteers will need to attend a volunteer orientation prior to teaching where they will receive the program and activity materials for their class.

You will make a difference in the lives of a classroom of students! Volunteer mentors are the magic behind our programs. In fact, 1 in 3 JA alumni credits their JA experience to influencing their career decision. AND, 1 in 5 JA alumni has gone on to work in the field of their JA volunteer!
